Have a team
Training for rucking is hard, and it requires time. If you are living with your family, then try to keep them on board while you’re training. Also, they should encourage you rather than resenting the energy that you are devoting to your training.
Along with family, you may need to have a team. It’s better to have people of the same mind. It will help you in various ways like you will get motivated. Also, the weirdos will train with you and hold you accountable for your actions.
Test your Food and Fuel
You must keep this thing in mind that while training your body will need extra nutrients because the GORUCK training is quite tough. So plan your diet before starting because, on this diet, your body will allow you to manage such hard training.
It means you should opt for snacks, energy bars, electrolyte tabs, and anything you eat must give you more calories, and your body should adjust with these. If your body is not responding to some specific diet, skip it on the spot so it cannot make any trouble in the future.
You should choose meals that are not heavy on your stomach.
Train your mental toughness
Mind toughness is an ability that helps to ignore the mind’s voice telling him to quit. During your event’s training, on so many spots, you will lose devotion and motivation. And each time, your mind will tell you to quit. So you have to make your mind tough if you want to stay motivated. Mind toughness will help you not to give up on tough training. And you will become able to ignore your mind’s voice.
The only solution to have such power is to find a way to make your training hard. You can read several books on mental toughness. A good book can guide you about the workouts that will assist you to make your mind tough. You should do severe hard training, and when your mind will tell you to quit, be focused on it more. But it doesn’t mean that you should hurt or injure yourself. Just set your mental fortitude to defeat that voice.
As we all know, strong people are hard to kill.
Rucking and PT will help you more than your expectations. But you also can’t deny the importance of old-fashioned strategies. And you must not neglect it too.
Always have time for running on tracks rather than on treadmills. The natural and old strategies will assist you more, and they will also do wonders to make you strong. But also schedule some time to go to the gym and work on your overall strength.
It’s a general perspective that if you pick up 300# off the ground by yourself, then for sure with your team, you will pick up 200# or #100.
The most challenging aspect is to indulge yourself in such tough training. And if you can’t push yourself, get someone to push you whenever you think to leave. This training is really very hard that you can’t even have control over what happens.
An excellent way for this is to have someone who can abuse you if you show laziness in training. You can do this with a training partner. You should ask him to call the reps while not doing.
