Academics

Conroe ISD SSO stands out as one of Texas’ fastest-growing school districts with its high-quality education and rapid expansion rate, serving nearly 55,000 students at 58 schools with an annual enrollment growth rate of approximately 1,500 students per year. Ten campuses received Exemplary ratings while all others met Standard ratings – making Conroe an outstanding performer across Texas!

CISD boasts a cutting-edge Career and Technical Education (CTE) program with 13 career clusters, 29 programs of study and 150 course offerings. Over 22,000 seventh through 12th graders enrolled in CTE courses last year; earning valuable certifications that will assist them as they transition to college or the workforce.

CISD educators are committed to student success and have an average teaching tenure of 9.5 years in the district; individual teachers typically hold over 11.5 years. Teachers in CISD also enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.

Athletics

CISD Athletics strives to offer students an opportunity to excel academically through participation in their sport of choice. Our department instills sportsmanship, personal integrity and team loyalty while simultaneously encouraging a strong work ethic and community pride.

Conroe ISD campuses have been closed or evacuated due to severe weather potential moving through their regions, prompting students and staff to seek shelter until any threats have passed.

Fine Arts

Our district’s visual arts and music programs are highly competitive, offering an impressive variety of courses for students in grades K-12. Students take part in choir, band, orchestra, dance, visual arts, vocal and instrumental music activities.

In 2022, 41 high school students across six comprehensive high schools in CISD were named Texas Music Educators Association All-State musicians for their respective music areas. Additionally, the CISD Fine Arts program has also been recognized by Texas Art Education Association as a District of Distinction and won nine consecutive Best Communities for Music Education awards from National Association of Music Merchants Foundation.

The Crighton Theatre, constructed in 1934 as a nonprofit Performing Arts Center, hosts professional productions by Stage Right Productions and Christian Youth Theatre as well as music concerts throughout the year. This website provides details about this venue as well as upcoming events.

Community

Conroe ISD is an award-winning district known for its academic and extracurricular achievements. Students excel on standardized tests such as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) exams as well as Advanced Placement exams, making this district stand out.

Teachers in the district are highly-regarded, and thanks to its staff development program they are equipped with all of the resources they need to effectively instruct their students – this includes curriculum-based textbooks, interactive learning models and instructional technology.

Students enrolled in this district can select from an array of career paths and majors that lead to high-paying jobs, as well as participate in voluntary organizations like PTA’s, PTO’s, and booster clubs that support parental involvement.
