Our district’s visual arts and music programs are highly competitive, offering an impressive variety of courses for students in grades K-12. Students take part in choir, band, orchestra, dance, visual arts, vocal and instrumental music activities.
In 2022, 41 high school students across six comprehensive high schools in CISD were named Texas Music Educators Association All-State musicians for their respective music areas. Additionally, the CISD Fine Arts program has also been recognized by Texas Art Education Association as a District of Distinction and won nine consecutive Best Communities for Music Education awards from National Association of Music Merchants Foundation.
